This group project looks at ways to design a flexible and adaptive building by focusing on sustainable and affordable means. Through the flexible design approach the home can adapt over time for different users to accommodate numbers and their needs for more or less space. Home extensions often come as an afterthought to the initial design. This project allows to design for future as well as the present, allowing the building user to dictate the interior spaces.

This new build offers more flexibility than an extension, in which the base design grid of 1200mm can be adapted in increments of 300mm to be more specific for your site. Independent steel structure together with the combination of standard and custom build interchangeable parts allows for a fast build, low maintenance and flexible building design.
